With the use of rapid self-tests in schools, the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth wants to ensure greater safety and maintain face-to-face classes as much as possible. The self-tests make it possible to closely monitor the evolution of the virus and to react immediately to the appearance of positive cases.

This test indicates the viral load, i.e. whether the person tested is contagious at the time of testing. Individuals perform the test on themselves, using a nasal swab. Cycle 1 students are tested at home, with parental assistance. From cycle 2 onwards, students perform the test at school. The teacher supervises the process and gives the necessary instructions.
