INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Attestation of consent and declaration of participation

Parents of minor pupils (with the exception of those in cycle 1) should fill in and sign an attestation of consent.

Parents of pupils in cycle 1 should fill in and sign a declaration of participation.

Adult students should sign a declaration of participation.

Pupils should hand the attestations of consent/declarations of participation to their class teacher.

Consent may be given or withdrawn at any time, merely by informing the class teacher in writing.

Frequency and timing

  • The first self-test is to be carried out at home, with help from the pupil’s parents.
  • Subsequent self-tests are then carried out at school, under the supervision of the teaching staff. (For pupils in cycle 1, all self-tests are to be carried out at home.)

Schools are to draw up a schedule so as to spread the testing across all the classes and cycles over the five days of the week.

Schools are to decide whether testing is to be carried out by an entire class at the same time once a week or if some of the pupils are to be tested each day of the week. Such a spread, where it is possible, would make it possible to monitor the presence and evolution of the virus in the school.

Schools are to choose the timing that suits them best, according to their constraints. Some schools may carry out tests first thing in the morning, while others may prefer to carry them out at the end of the day because they do not have the resources for keeping any children who test positive apart from the other children while they wait for their parents to arrive. Other schools may opt for a hybrid solution.

Schools are to inform pupils and parents of their scheduling: this will enable parents to organise themselves in advance in the event of their child testing positive.

Positive result

In the event of a positive result at school:

  1. The pupil concerned will be separated from the group immediately and given an FFP2 mask.
  2. The school will phone the pupil’s parents immediately so they can collect their child as quickly as possible.
  3. Until the parents arrive, an adult will supervise the child, in a separate place if possible. This adult will also wear an FFP2 mask. Schools will have a stock of FFP2 masks at their disposal.
  4. The teacher will notify the health inspection via an app. The health inspection will decide on the measures to be adopted, depending on the circumstances (tracing, quarantine, etc).
  5. If only some of the pupils in a class have carried out the self-test, the other pupils must carry out their test as soon as possible.
  6. Any self-tests that are positive must be confirmed by a PCR test.

In the event of a positive result at home, the parents or the adult pupil undertake to notify both the health inspection(site : https://covidtracing.public.lu/covid or hotline : 247-65533), and the school immediately. A positive self-test must be confirmed by a PCR test.
